Worksheet: Causes of the Peasants Revolt
A series of resources designed to teach the causes of the Peasants revolt and their relationship to one another. The revolt of 1381 was sparked by Poll Tax collection in Fobbing, Kent. The Poll Tax was however just one of a number of things that had led to unrest. Over a number of years different factors had contributed to a general discontent among the people.
This work pack includes a series of resources that:
- provide information about different causes
- classify information into categories
- sequence the events to provide a chronological run through of the causes
- weigh up the significance of events
Combined, they develop a breadth of understanding of the causes and enable learners to demonstrate that they are aware of some things being more significant than others. They can use their findings to produce extended writing about the causes which could show that they possess higher level analytical skills.
